What We Do
We are involved with a Ministry under the Christian Ministries Witn Disabled Trust (CMWDT) called Joy Ministries (JM) for people with intellectual disabilities. We lead worship for the Central/West Auckland Group. It brings us Joy to do this as the people have also been very encouraging with there simple understanding of things, even if we get things wrong they do not mind and we still get lots of praise. Here we play songs, with actions, rounds, easy to remember lines, and simple melodies as the JM people really respond to them. They really like singing Scripture.
We also Play at Eden AOG Church here in Auckland (where some of us attend). This is somewhat different than playing for JM. We sometimes use similar songs as we like playing them and it gets everyone up and moving around a bit. Also we incorporate some of Edens songs we know and like to cater for them. this is a more formal setting and has helped develop us as a group to become more professional in what we do.
